Job Description: Network Administrator
Role Summary
The Network Administrator will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and first-to-second-level support of the organization’s network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring network stability and security.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Monitoring: Monitor network performance, manage alerts, and ensure maximum network uptime using standard monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
Configuration & Maintenance: Configure, install, and maintain network devices including routers, switches (Cisco/Juniper), access points, and basic firewalls.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve common LAN/WAN connectivity issues, IP addressing problems (DHCP/DNS), and VPN connection faults.
Security Support: Assist in implementing firewall policies, managing user access to the network, and performing regular network device backups.
Cabling & Inventory: Manage network cabling infrastructure and maintain accurate inventory records for network hardware.
Documentation: Update and maintain internal knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in Network Administration or L2/L3 Technical Support.
Education: BE/B.Tech/MCA from a recognized institution.
Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, and standard routing protocols (Static, RIP, OSPF).
Certifications: CCNA certification is highly desirable.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a rotational shift environment if required, and strong problem-solving skills.
